Free prize inside – great book (praise 4 years late)

I thought I had read most things written by Seth Godin. (I pre-ordered Meatball Sundae and Tribes). I had totally missed Free Prize Inside, and had it recommended recently. I grabbed a copy and digested it in a day or so. And then I bought a 20 copies for my colleagues.

Following the Purple Cow theme and preceding the Big Moo, it is a real how-to guide that explains “soft-innovation”, “edge-craft”, and how to generate interest in executing your ideas. Thank you, even if the thanks is four years late. There are many great insights in here, including a reminder to do “difficult work” rather than just “hard work”.

Applying this to both your product and associated activity will lead to better customer service (the biggest part of customer service being that you provide something of value to your customer, and you live up to your word imho). This really explains how, as well as why.

If you didn’t read it already, go buy a copy, read it, and then do something remarkable in your work, and keep doing it…
